Dorothy Mason 11/24/45 - 3/4/06

Vaya con Diosa, Dorotea; my friend of 45 years lost her battle with cancer and left the planet today. I met 'Dort' in a high school Spanish class around 1960 and have called her Dorotea ever since. We shared various shenanigans and life passages with each other through-out the decades and knew we could always turn to each other for support when life got confusing or we just wanted to catch up on each others lives. Dear friend, I'll miss your ready smile and unwavering friendship.

North 40 Frame Shop

Val manages the North 40 Frame Shop, but she has to take off March and April to be on the ranch fulltime during calving season. Cassandra asked me to work for her while she's gone, so I've been apprenticing since I arrived in mid-January. It's really fun learning a new craft and it's given me a chance to meet more of the local folks. The only part I don't like is going out to the unheated 'chop shed' to cut frames when the temperature is near zero.
